Hiking with Beluga Baby Wrap!

We took a fun little trip to beautiful Park City with some of our good friends last weekend and had such a great time! If you have ever been to Park City you know how insanely gorgeous it is there. We absolutely love all the outdoor activities that they have to offer and one of our favorites is to hike. Before we started having kids Cody and I would go hiking any chance we had, we are both outdoor people and love to be in the mountains! With river I was a little stuck because I didn’t have a carrier for her that I could use for our hikes, so we just weren’t able to do anything that summer it was a total bummer!

I was so excited when Beluga Baby and I decided to collaborate because I had always heard great things about baby wraps but I had never given any a try. I can tell you that I have been so pleased with the beluga baby wrap, they make it easy offering tutorials (here) on how to wear the wrap for different size babies. I feel like I have gotten my life back, because my clingy baby is able to hang out on my chest close to my heart while I get things done around the house and play with his big sister throughout the day! This wrap has completely changed my idea of the newborn! It has made life so much easier!

My Experience With Owlet!

My Experience with Owlet!

Hey guys! When river was a baby I remember just grabbing a baby monitor at the store that I never used because the darn thing drove me crazy with how loud it was, it is crazy to me how advanced the technology has come in the past four years! When I found out that I was pregnant with Park’s I knew that I wanted to invest in a better quality baby monitor, but with so many to choose from it became a tedious job! Other than not having boy clothes I had pretty much everything I needed to welcome a new baby home, so I focused all my efforts into finding a good baby monitor. I spent so much time reading reviews and googling baby monitors, it was crazy! I was so fortunate to have my research point me in the direction of the Owlet baby monitor.  With hospital grade technology – pulse oximetry-  that it is designed to alert when your baby stops breathing, it was a no brainer that the owlet sleep sock would be a perfect fit for our family. I am the biggest worry wart, and add the fact that Park’s was failure to thrive I became a nervous wreck!  When you have a new baby you are already not sleeping because you are up with your baby at night to feed them, burp them etc. but for both Cody and I we were also up throughout the night checking him to make sure that he was breathing. As all new parents out there know, having a precious baby stop breathing in the middle of the night is almost always our number one worry and concern.  Having the Owlet has been like having a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and has really given me one less thing to worry about! That is why I recommend this product to every pregnant mother I know, and I have told all of my friends and family and anyone else who will listen about the owlet and how incredible it is! It is definitely a perfect baby registry item! Trust me guys, you NEED this in your life if you have a little baby or are expecting one! The set up is incredibly easy and as I say in my video you can set the whole thing up through your app and they have tutorials to educate you on the product, the proper ways to use it and the technology that is used. It has been so convenient knowing that when I put parks down in the evenings I can just check the app on my phone to tell me that his oxygen and heart rate levels are all where they need to be, it has really given me peace of mind. The owlet has been an amazing little bugger, and I can’t imagine bringing anymore babies home in the future without it. Do you have an owlet? Do you love it as much as we do?! If you are a parent like me, give owlet a try, I can promise you that you won’t be sorry! Love you guys!

Thanks Owlet for sponsoring this post!

5 Tips For Feeling GREAT In A Swimsuit – No matter your figure!

5 Tips For Feeling GREAT In a Swimsuit – No matter your figure!

Its no secret that most women tend to cringe at the thought of slipping on that little piece of fabric we call a swimsuit, psh more like torcher device! haha… When we are use to covering our bodies in leggings and frumpy sweaters all winter long, dawning that itty bitty swimsuit is the last thing we want to think about.

I feel like there is so much stress and pressure that’s put on us as women to look our best during bathing suit season, and you know where that pressure comes from?  Y O U! Yes people can get mean but a majority of them could care less what you look like in a bathing suit, we as women are our own worst critics! Women, especially mom’s have cellulite, get over it! Not everyone is built to have a thigh gap and that is ok! We aren’t teenagers like most of the models gracing the pages of magazines and tv commercials. They’re not only on a VERY strict diet and fitness regimens but also have the help of brilliantly trained makeup and photo editing artists that help them look amazing in those pictures we see! To be honest I struggle with body image issues every single day. I can hear my inner self conscious girl chewing me out for eating one too many brownies over winter because how dare I gain 5 pounds and not lose it before dawning my bathing suit! But not anymore, I have decided that I am going to have confidence in my swimwear from now on and these are my top 5 tips and tricks that I have used to have confidence and feel GREAT in a swimsuit

1.) Choose a swimming suit that shows off your favorite body parts: For me this would be my torso, I have an insanely long torso and have always chosen a tankini or bikini or (if I can find a long enough length) one piece options that have a deeper v neck’s to create the look of a smaller waist and over all slimming effect. Maybe you have super model twiggy legs that you love to show off, or an awesome chest and collarbone area, whatever body part it may be show it off with confidence and rock a swimsuit that allows you to show off those areas.

2.) Focus on what you love about your body: I use to look in the mirror and only point out my imperfections, it didn’t matter that I had nice toned arms because my saddle bags were out of control in my head. after having children this mind game began to give me anxiety freaking out about the pooch I had in place of my once flat stomach or the extra layer of skin and fat I couldn’t get rid of. It wasn’t until I was crying in front of a mirror one night and my husband came in asking what was wrong. He had me stand up and look in the mirror and tell me how beautiful each of my body parts I hated were. he told me that my body was capable of amazing things and that was proven with growing and birthing our two children. He told me to not worry about the stretch marks and pooches, my body was amazing. After that I decided to work REALLY hard on my body image issues and I  started talking to and about my body in a more positive way. Now when I look in the mirror I see the parts of my body I love and I always dress to emphasize those areas. This Kingdom & State suit above is a great option for mom’s because the high rise bottoms cover our baby pooch while the sweetheart neckline and shorter length of the top help make it feel vintage and a bit sexy without showing to much skin!

3.) Dont compare yourself to others: None of us are built the same, and just like you may love so and so’s long legs and wish you had them she could just as easily be envious of your rock hard abs or awesome booty. whatever it may be we are all envious of one another to some point or another so stop comparing yourself to everyone else. Have confidence in yourself and your body, like I said earlier women are absolutely amazing and we need to realize this about ourselves. Next time you see that girl at the water park that looks amazing don’t compare yourself with her just be happy with where you’re at and what you have done!

4.) Be kind about others: You know those people who need serious blinders and a nuzzle while out swimming in public? All they do is bash every other women at the pool for what they are wearing or for their imperfect bodies. I’m sure everyone has heard the saying “if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all” its true, I promise that putting someone else down will never EVER make you feel any better about yourself! We as women need to stop being so darn mean to each other and just lift one another up and accept each other for who we are. Our imperfections and all.

5.) Don’t be afraid to splurge a little on a suit that you LOVE:  The better the quality of the suit the better it will hold its shape and the longer you will be able to wear it with confidence. I still wear swimsuits I splurged on while in college because good quality mixed with taking good care of a product will result in a longer lasting item. When shopping for a suit it is important to try the swim suits on.  Take the time to try on a wide variety of colors and styles and choose the one you feel beautiful and happy in.  For me personally the brighter the colors and the crazier the pattern the better, but if you are more reserved then choose a color that compliments your skin tone and rock it! If you are wanting to get a little crazy try mixing and matching a patterned top with a solid bottom or visa versa!

One thing to remember with any swimsuit that you choose is to run it through a cold water rinse before you wear it, this will set the color and keep your suit looking great longer. Also remember to always rinse the suit in cold water after swimming in chlorinated water and hang it to dry inside, not out in the sun!

Well guys I hope you enjoyed todays post! I sure love you ladies!
